“Generally at Repost we see 1/4 rounds fly from our stockpiles here in Marlborough but 1/2 rounds should not be under-estimated. On our 500 hectare sheep and beef farm in St.Arnaud we are using them more often than not now! The benefit of using a 1/2 round is they are stronger. They are also great stays. Using a 1/2 round on its edge creates a very strong option for a stay and for stay blocks. You can run the wires against the flat face for a clean finish.
I can appreciate 1/4 rounds are lighter for installation, drive easier and aesthetically more pleasing to the eye for many farmers. But do consider giving 1/2s rounds a crack as they are stronger and bigger and just as fit for purpose!””
